Hey Queen! We actually have seven “D”s now! 1: No drinking 2: No driving 3: No dating 4: No drugs 5: No decorating (tattoos or piercing) 6: No downloading (make sure you understand how WiFi works in your country and don’t get a virus) 7: No ditching (no leaving the area you are designated to stay in without authorization)
I don't really get the no dating rule... Is it more than having sex?
Why not driving ??
I have a question tho about the Driving part if I have my liscense in my original country (canada) and I go to the us can I drive because it’s the same road rule and I’m legally allowed to drive in both of the country i don’t know if what I just said was clear ahah sorry
We tell our students no increase or decrease of life on exchange :) The problem I have with your opinions is that you may lead students to believe that they won't get sent home if they break the rules. We do send students home who break the rules, and have done it several times.

I'm currently an exchnage student in Germany and thinking about the rules know makes me laugh. Our rotary district encourages us to drink and 6 kids got arrested and nothing happened to them with rotary 😂👍🏼

Facundo Coria I participated in a different exchange program but it got cancelled for some students (I’m one of them :( )
well, i was going to use rotary, until my school recommended YFU instead. The rules were easier to understand, the application process was easy, and just to sum it all up, everything was easier.
Was it expensive?
@@cyb3r921 With YFU it really depends on the country, generally a whole school year is between 14,000 and 15,000, and a semester could be around 9,000 to 11,000.
Brandon I really want to be an exchange student in japan, do you think it would be cheaper through rotary or YFU?
@@cyb3r921 Rotary is the cheaper option, and I personally find it easier to find information on rotary. So I would reccomend rotary.

English is simple, knowing a little goes a long way, people will be able to understand you easily.
How often can hookups happen in France compared to US?
My friend went to France junior year and encounters of those sorts are much more likely.

Thank you so much! I was just signing the papers and the rules worried me a bit. I don't pretend to break any of them but they seemed rlly strict, especially the no dating one.
Well it's more complicated. You are allowed to go on dates but they dont want you in a serious relationship. This is because you will spend all ur time with them and it will be hard to come home. They encourage you to have a date to prom and stuff
Yeah, the main thing is that they’re worried you’ll be seeing the country from your significant other’s view, and not get to experience what you want on your own.
When you guys say it like that it makes sense but in my district everything is so different. They told us no dating at all, also the country choice will be done by raffle, are your districts like this also? I'm kind of worried about this
Nat Ddcf Nah, my district has you fill out a top 5 list, and they rank you compared to other students based off your interviews and applications, which determines who gets higher on their list, because there are only so many spots open for each country.

hey, im leaving for south america in about three months with rotary, and your video was completely everything that i needed to hear to get reassured a bit sooo thanks! and also, did you go out on the week-ends with, i dunno, friends of your school, or did you have to wait for rotary week-ends? and were your host families tolerant?

Most likely not in the beginning, but after a few months, most students start to understand.

Hey I'm french and I have a brazilian sister in my home. And like after less than 5 months she completly understand us. You dont have to worry about it 😀
